MANNHEIM Closing in Berlin

Dezember 2025

✨ What an inspiring day in Berlin! ✨

At the final event of the BMFTR funding initiative MANNHEIM, all seven research projects came together β€” and the atmosphere was truly festive. Curiosity, collaboration, and a shared vision for shaping the mobility of tomorrow filled the room.
We are incredibly proud to be part of this journey with autotech.agil. Our mission: bringing agility, standardization, and future readiness to automotive software and electronics architectures β€” making innovation not just possible, but natural. πŸš—βš‘

And we were in exceptional company: These projects showcased just how diverse the future of mobility can be:
πŸ‘‰ Mannheim CeCaS – Central Car Server – Supercomputing fΓΌr Automotive
πŸ‘‰ KI4BoardNet – Integrated agile E/E development for merged and standardized energy and data networks
πŸ‘‰ EMDRIVE – Platform concept for distributed heterogeneous automotive real-time computing network architectures
πŸ‘‰ MEMTONOMY – Storage systems for autonomous driving
πŸ‘‰ FlexKI – Flexible AI deployment and AI platforms for embedded automotive applications
πŸ‘‰ AutoDevSafeOps – Integrated development and operation of safe automotive systems
πŸ‘‰ And us: autotech.agil – Architecture and Technologies for Orchestrating Automotive Agility

πŸ’¬ What do we take away from this day? A deep sense of gratitude β€” for the open exchange, the inspiring conversations, and the passionate people pushing the boundaries of automotive technology.
Another highlight was the constructive exchange with representatives from the ministry. We discussed how research funding must evolve to keep pace with today’s rapid technological development β€” often described as β€œChina speed.” Adapting funding frameworks to this new reality will be essential for strengthening Germany’s and Europe’s position as competitive economic and scientific hubs.

And just as importantly: excitement. Because the outcomes of the MANNHEIM initiative are not an ending β€” they are a beginning. πŸš€
We look forward to continuing our research journey in future projects together with motivated and dedicated teams from research institutions and companies from the automotive sector. 🀝✨
A heartfelt thank you to the BMFTR and to all partners who made this journey possible. We are heading home full of motivation, warmth, and team spirit. πŸ’›

What a day to remember!

October 2025

✨ The future of mobility is not just something to talk about – it is something you can see, touch, and experience. And at the autotech.agil final event, you could even ride along! ✨

After three years of hard work, collaboration, and curiosity, we celebrated the grand finale of our research project at the Aldenhoven Testing Center – transforming the test site into a real-world lab for tomorrow’s mobility.

πŸ’‘πŸš— What made it so special? From a barrier-free autonomous shuttle, to flexible parcel delivery, to a digital twin orchestrating traffic and emergency response in real time – we brought connected, automated mobility to life in ways that felt tangible and inspiring.
But beyond technology, this day was about people and passion: researchers, engineers, and visionaries joining forces to make mobility safer, smarter, and more inclusive.

πŸ’™ A huge thank you to everyone who made this milestone possible. You have proven that the future of mobility is not just ahead of us – we can experience it today.

Emergency Scenario: Coordinated Response of the Connected Mobility System

🚨 When every second counts, coordination is everything.

πŸ“– Imagine a city where vehicles, drone, and control center act as one in an emergency. In our live demonstration, the control center closes routes, guides drivers, and uses drones to monitor traffic from above. With the digital twin, updates spread instantly – so all vehicles can react and keep traffic safe and flowing.
βš™οΈ Today, drivers react individually to emergencies. Even with vehicle communication standards like ETSI ITS-G5, central coordination is rare, and automated vehicle responses to such situations are still in their infancy.
πŸ’‘ For the first time, autonomous and connected vehicles respond together to a live incident. The digital twin distributes updates in real time, vehicles recognize sirens, and road and aerial image data are used for scene understanding within the control center – making system-wide emergency coordination reality.

πŸ“ Demonstration takes place in our real-world lab at the test site.

πŸ’¬ How do you see this kind of coordination transforming emergency response in your city? Let us know in the comments.

Join us for the final event of our research project autotech.agil on September 11th, 2025 at the Aldenhoven Testing Center – experience our mobility system and secure your spot today! https://www.autotechagil.de/en/final-event/
